Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy

Effective Date: April 6, 2026

1. Purpose and Acceptance of Policy

This Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy (“Policy”) governs the use of AI tools and technologies within all programs, courses, and services offered by Ziplines, Inc. (“Ziplines”). The purpose of this Policy is to ensure appropriate, transparent, and ethical use of AI by learners, instructors, and staff; to maintain academic integrity; and to safeguard the privacy and security of learner data.

By enrolling in a Ziplines course, accessing Ziplines learning environments, or submitting assignments and coursework, you acknowledge and agree to comply with all requirements of this Policy. Failure to comply may result in academic penalties, disciplinary action, removal from the course, or other actions as permitted under Ziplines' policies, without refund.

2. Disclosure of AI in the Learning Experience

Learners may encounter AI technologies during their engagement with Ziplines coursework and services. These technologies may include, but are not limited to:

  • AI-assisted grading systems
  • Instructor- or staff-directed AI tools that support communication, decision-making, and feedback
    • Ziplines Education uses Zoom Revenue Accelerator (“ZRA”), an AI-enabled tool that provides automated meeting analysis, transcription, and performance insights. ZRA is used to support instructional quality, learner experience, and internal operational effectiveness.
  • AI notetakers used by Ziplines personnel in live sessions (with prior disclosure)
  • Ziplines-provisioned AI tools, such as ChatGPT Edu, provided for academic use and AI tools that are recommended for use in the content, but not required

These tools are intended to supplement instruction and enhance the learning experience. They do not replace human oversight or the learner’s responsibility to meet course requirements.

3. Disclosure of Ziplines’ Use of AI Technologies

Ziplines utilizes certain AI systems to support its course development, instructional and operational functions.

3.1 AI-Assisted Grading

  • Ziplines uses an internally developed AI tool to assist with grading learner assignments.
  • Assignment data processed through this tool may be transmitted to OpenAI’s API; however, such data is not used to train OpenAI public models.
  • The grading tool is trained on Ziplines-developed educational materials.
  • Any failing or incomplete grade generated by the AI tool is reviewed by Ziplines' educational staff before a final grade is issued.
  • Ziplines staff conduct periodic sampling of AI-generated grading output to ensure fairness, accuracy, and compliance.

3.2 AI Use in Course Development and Maintenance

  • Ziplines courses are designed and built by Ziplines Learning Experience Designers in collaboration with Ziplines Subject Matter Experts. AI may be used in the design process in the following ways:
    • AI may be used to draft initial course outlines to give our Subject Matter Experts a starting point for their design.
    • Some Subject Matter Experts may use AI to move from a detailed topical outline to a video script or to polish other parts of the course and lesson draft.
    • AI may be used in drafting fictional scenarios used as examples.
    • AI may be used for initial drafting of course elements such as video introductions, quiz answers, and fictional scenarios. It is also used for grammar checking and for rewriting course elements for length.
    • AI may be used to summarize learner feedback on courses to direct our revision and maintenance efforts.

3.3 AI Use by Instructors and Support Staff

  • Ziplines Live Session Instructors may, on occasion, utilize AI notetakers in live sessions.
  • Ziplines Instructional and Support Staff may use AI to support responses to learner inquiries.
  • The Ziplines Instructional and Support Staff use Hiration to support resume refinement, LinkedIn updates, and related services.
  • Ziplines Instructional and Support Staff may use Zoom Revenue Accelerator (ZRA) for legally permissible purposes such as enhancing training and coaching, supporting learners, improving course design and operations, and generating summaries and analytics, while serving only as a supplemental tool and not the sole basis for academic, performance, or disciplinary decisions.

4. Guidelines for Learners’ Use of AI

Learners may use AI tools in accordance with the following requirements:

4.1 Transparency

Learners must clearly and accurately disclose the nature and extent of AI use in their assignments (e.g., ideation, drafting, editing, or proofreading).

4.2 Originality

All submitted work must reflect the learner’s own comprehension, analysis, and critical thinking. AI may assist, but may not replace the learner’s original intellectual contributions.

4.3 Prohibition on Plagiarism

Submitting AI-generated content as original work without proper disclosure constitutes academic dishonesty and may result in disciplinary action. Learners remain subject to all Ziplines' plagiarism and academic integrity policies.

4.4 Quality Standards

Use of AI does not excuse substandard work. Assignments will be assessed on their rigor, originality, and demonstrated understanding, irrespective of AI involvement.

4.5 Educational Integrity

AI may not be used to bypass learning outcomes, assessment expectations, or course requirements. Any such misuse may result in academic penalties.

5. Assignments

5.1 Assignments

Learners may use AI tools to support completion of assignments under the following conditions:

  1. AI-generated materials must be fully disclosed and may not constitute the majority or entirety of a learner’s submission.
  2. Misrepresentation of AI-generated work as personal work is prohibited and may result in failure of the assignment, failure of the course, or removal from the program without refund.
  3. Learners are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy and appropriateness of any AI-assisted content included in their work.

5.2 Live Sessions

  1. Live sessions are automatically recorded, transcribed, and uploaded to the learning management system (LMS) for learner use.
  2. Learners may not use AI notetakers during any live Ziplines sessions.
  3. Ziplines Instructional and Support Staff may use AI notetakers only with prior disclosure to all attendees.
  4. Learners are responsible for their own note-taking unless otherwise accommodated under disability or accessibility policies.

6. Prohibited Uses of AI

The following uses are strictly prohibited:

  • Use of AI notetakers by learners during live sessions
  • Submission of AI-generated content without disclosure
  • Use of AI to generate entire assignments or to circumvent academic expectations
  • Use of Ziplines-provisioned AI tools for personal, commercial, or non-academic purposes
  • Uploading confidential or sensitive information unrelated to coursework into any AI tool
  • Any use of AI that violates Ziplines’ Code of Conduct, Terms of Use, Academic Integrity Policy, Privacy Policy or applicable law

7. Data Handling and Privacy

7.1 Ziplines-Provisioned AI Tools

When Ziplines provides access to AI tools:

  • If access is provided to an AI tool (such as ChatGPT), all data, prompts, and conversations within the workspace are not used to train public models.
  • Learners cannot view one another’s data unless content is explicitly shared.
  • Ziplines administrators may access workspace data for security purposes, data loss prevention, or legal or compliance purposes.
  • Use of Ziplines-provisioned AI tools for personal, commercial, or non-academic purposes
  • Uploading confidential or sensitive information unrelated to coursework into any Ziplines-provisioned AI tool
  • Access to provisioned tools is time-limited and will terminate at the conclusion of the course. Upon termination, all learner data and saved work may become permanently inaccessible.
  • Use of any AI tool is at the learner’s own risk. Ziplines disclaims liability for data loss, incorrect outputs, or third-party tool behavior.

7.2 AI Grading Tool Data

  • Assignment data submitted to the AI grading tool may be processed by OpenAI’s API. Such data is not used for training public AI models.
  • Ziplines retains the right to review, audit, and validate AI-assisted grading data as needed.

8. Learning Integration Tools

8.1 Tools Provisioned by Ziplines

Ziplines may grant learners access to tools, including but not limited to:
